The complex history of Arial and Helvetica

Helvetica and Arial are perhaps one of the most iconic typefaces on earth. The common perception amongst designers is that Arial is a ripoff of Helvetica, but the story is much more nuanced than what meets the eye. This magazine spread article, done during my 2nd year typography class, aims to explore the story behind both very similar typefaces.
